EPA misses Ozone NAAQS deadline
Aug 03, 2011
EPA has missed a self imposed deadline of July 29, 2011 to publish its reconsideration of the ground level ozone NAAQS. EPA stated that the new standard has been sent to the Office of Management and Budget for review, and still intends to publish the standard shortly. In the new standard, EPA is attempting to reduce the current air standard of 75 parts per billion (ppb) to a level between 60 and 70 ppb. To read EPA's statement: http://www.epa.gov/glo/actions.html.
